Balian du lac

Balian, son of Ballarant d'Nosse, son of Izelba of Cofre, was born in year 994 of the calendar. His family ruled his island nation, shared by two other kingdoms, with fairness and a just, firm hand. However, there was conflict with their neighbors that persisted through the years of Balian's youth. When his father fell ill and his mother with him, there was suspicion of poisoning when Balian's brother, Robaire, took the throne and led his people to war.  Balian was sent to the mainland to study and learn in the universities and at the feet of lords, serving as a page in the courts of lords across the land of Bicolline at the time, and sought to return home at the news of his father's illness, and subsequent demise, and his brother's rise to the throne, and later warring ways.  Tragedy struck, again and again, however, and the ceaseless warring led to a blight and plague to spread through the land. So furious was the conflict that the dead themselves began to rise back again from the dead, and sow chaos. Necromancy and dark magics reigned amidst the chaos, and war only further plunged lords, kings, and commoner alike to depravity and darkness. A lich then rose, powerful and terrible, devouring life and feeding off of the death around him, and his name was    So aghast were the very gods at this horrid display that they plotted their own resolution to the fallen nations. Seas rose, lands sunk. Balian was stuck in the roiling sea, watching as storms struck, winds howled, and fire rained.  Within minutes his homeland was consumed by the fury of the gods. Alone, Balian made for the mainland where he made contact with the Ordo Cervi, and later, befriended Sebastien Vivevlame, leader of the soon-to-form guild called Derthorn.
