Brynden Rivers

Origin Story
Brynden was born a bastard child, the offspring of a now-shamed monk of a holy order and traveling performer/duelist mother at an abbey in Beeskow. He was given the surname "Rivers", for there are as many bastards as there are rivers throughout the South and Kazarun. Raised to read and write from his learned father, and to duel and fight from his mother, Brynden practiced and trained in between long days working the local farms and fields throughout the days of his youth. Upon hearing of the invasion of the Southern knights led by Rathan, Brynden heard stories of the battles won versus larger forces and of a true king who arrived to liberate and free all peoples. When he turned of age, he volunteered his skills and training to assist the South through the Civil War of "Tangled Antlers". Arriving at Bicolline in 1023 in Militum, he restored Sir Kilian's House Venetores and recruited devoted Militum members to protect and escort the king during a time of great upheaval. Standing guard in the boiling heat, harsh rain and wind, Brynden was seen protecting the king's events throughout the week. He created a fencing tournmanet to mark the occassion, "The Tournament of Tangled Antlers" that still runs today. Upon a contentious exchange with an enemy of the South, Brynden refused his entry until he recited the watchword to protect the noble Southerners inside. This led to the development of the "Blood Red Hand", and ultimately the guild Fidèles. They are composed of Southerners with a shared desire to show their loyalty to our beloved Southern comrades and nobility. Founded on proletariat principles, peasants from around Kazarun leave their fields of toil every year to muster and defend the freedom and rights of each and every Southerner. All votes and spoils are distributed equally, and his small band of miscreants has evolved into an effective questing and skirmishing force.
