"Damascus, at the time named Saramad Hill, was an ill-prepared military man who was prematurely put in control of his own 8-soldier scouting squad; although he knew he wasn't ready to lead or even fight, a number of variables such as nepotism, being given credit for the successes of others, and limited other leadership choices, put him in charge of this scouting team. Through his own carelessness and inexperience, his team, who had become a found family for him, had been kidnapped and dispatched. Although Saramad made it out of the capture alive, he did not return back to his commanders or homeland, instead becoming a deserter in a distant land and going by the pseudonym 'Damascus Loch' to start a new life. Eventually the news of his cowardice and abandonment got out back to his homeland and he was known as 'Saramad the Coward' to those who remember him. Although he's had a number of run-in's with bounty hunters looking for the modest bounty on his head, he is fairly unrecognizable from the man he was before deserting and is difficult to track down. |
