Origin Story

Fern, having been a steadfast member of the Vieux Garou guild for many years, found themselves at a crossroads. The recent election of Manwë Runa Andlatter as the new Manwë of Irendille sparked a deep curiosity within Fern. They were drawn to the idea of embarking on a pilgrimage, of being part of Manwë's mission to understand the spiritual health of the nation.

As Fern stood at the guild's meeting hall, contemplating their decision, memories from their past life as a crow resurfaced. They remembered the significance of collecting trinkets from the dying, the secrets and fears they gathered along the way. Fern realized that their role as a collector of all things went beyond mere physical objects—it encompassed the collection of knowledge, secrets, and fears as well. It was this realization that led Fern to make a difficult choice. Leaving behind the familiar bonds of the Vieux Garou was a daunting decision for Fern, but they knew that their journey with Manwë Runa held immense potential. It was a chance to delve deeper into their own nature, to uncover the mysteries of their past lives, and to embrace their evolving fae powers.

Fern embarked on the pilgrimage alongside Manwë Runa and Aranel. As they traveled across Irendille, visiting clans, towns, and hidden forest dwellings, Fern's fascination with collecting became intertwined with their newfound responsibilities as a Manwë Leaf. They listened to the stories and worries of the people, collecting the hidden truths that resided within their hearts and spirits. During their journey, Fern couldn't help but notice a recurring pattern—a need for unity, understanding, and balance. So many people, with so many worries. Fern could see them in their mind's eye, each person a pinpoint, reaching out to another, creating an intricate series of lines….The creation of The Prism was not a singular endeavor but a mutual gathering of various minds, extending beyond the borders of Irendille.

As Fern continued their journey alongside Sullivan and the other members of The Prism, their fae powers started to manifest in more pronounced ways. The bioluminescent quality that had first emerged as a faint glow now dotted Fern's form, casting an ethereal radiance wherever they went. The soft glow emanating from their skin mesmerized those who beheld it, drawing them closer with an inexplicable sense of wonder. For Fern, the manifestation of their fae powers was both thrilling and overwhelming. The vibrant glow mirrored the inner transformation they had undergone, a fusion of their half-elf heritage and the infusion of fae magic. It was a testament to the deep connection they had forged with the fae and the trust they had earned among these mystical beings.

Sullivan, ever loyal and supportive, marveled at Fern's transformation. He saw the luminescence as a reflection of their inner radiance and the unique path they were destined to walk. He recognized Fern's fae powers as a gift, an extension of their connection to the mystical forces that guided their journey. In the Prism, Fern saw a harmonious blend of their past life as a collector, as their fae bioluminescence began to spread, and their unwavering dedication to safeguarding secrets and fears. They envisioned a sanctuary that would embrace all aspects of existence—the light and the shadows, the joys and the sorrows—and provide a space for growth, reflection, and transformation.

It was under the silvery moonlight, in the heart of an enchanting evergreen tree grove, Fern and Aranel stood bathed in the soft, ethereal glow of moonbeams filtering through the thick canopy above. The ancient trees, swaying gently in the night breeze, whispered secrets of the fae. Aranel's eyes, reflecting the forest's serene splendor, held a deep, unwavering gaze as he turned to Fern, taking their hands in his. With a voice as melodic as the night, he asked the question of great import, witnessed by Canelle, Lyria, and Sullivan. "Fern," he began, "will you be my priest, my confidant in matters both spiritual and profound?"

In their heart, Fern knew that as they traveled the realms, guided by the collective wisdom of their companions, Fern's purpose as a collector and curator would find its true expression. With each new encounter, they added to the vast tapestry of understanding, strengthening the bonds that held The Prism together and propelling them on their journey towards enlightenment.
