Gaelyn Gairnead

Gaelyn Gairnead, commonly known as "Ghost", is one of the few Snow Elves to walk the wider world of Mundus. A ranger amongst his people, he would spend decades away from his home to traverse and protect the hidden mountain vale. Very few people or creatures could made their way through the vale, even fewer could survive the harsh conditions. A practice of the rangers was to bury the wayward souls that did not survive, because of this practice Gaelyn would get small glimpses of the outer world by each pilgrims personal effects. A warn banner, torn piece of map, weapons and armor of strange design; these things and more, he would collect and bring to his many dens throughout the vale to wonder over. 

One fated day, whilst fending off a furious wyvern, his footing was no longer sure and when receiving a blow and spinning to recover, the snow beneath him gave way causing him to plummeted downward into the snows below. But fate had other plans for Gaelyn, his impact cause the thin layer of ice to cave inward revealing a glacial river that swept him downstream. Awaking on a bank of the edge of the river inside a glacial cave, he was disoriented, unsure of where he was or how long he had been in the river. But he gathered his witts after a few hours, or more, and carefully continued his way downstream. To his count, more then 4 days elapsed while he followed the river to its eventual end; there were many stretches where it was a large ice cave with a thin stream, and many times he had to wade through chest deep waters. Towards the end, the river quickened, the roar of the water deafened the cave, and Gaelyn began to fade. His body being carried towards the edge, with his last receive of energy, he let out a mighty yell as he was taken over the great mountain falls.

Through the falls far from anyway, this day they were not vacant. Hearing his cry for help, the Wood Elf, Lluvia Nube, priestess of water, was there to spring into action and was able to pull him shore. Believing him dead by his complexion, she started to perform last rights over him and jumped back in fright when he began cough out the water in his chest. When they locked eyes, he was captivated by her. She was the first living person from outside the vale that he had ever seen, and she was beautiful. He thanked her profusely, and for saving him from the depths, he pledged himself to her as her companion. After a day and night of recovery, and trading tales, the companions decades to traverse back into the vale of the Snow Elves, to introduce Lluvia to his people and to seek the blessings of his family to leave the vale.

Since that day Lluvia and Gaelyn, or "V and Ghost", traveled from his home to hers within the forest, following the river through the forest out into the plains and meadows. As they roamed the lands, they learned more and more of their peoples history, eventually finding the sea and looke to the lands beyond, where all the Elves hail from.
