Origin Story
In the heart of the Duché de Bicolline, amid sweeping forests and towering mountains, there was born a figure known to history as Saint Bailey. Hailing from a small village at the edge of the duchy, Bailey’s life began in relative obscurity. The village elders often spoke of prophecies and ancient tales foretelling a warrior who would rise to bring unity and peace. This prophecy, however, was the furthest thought from Bailey’s mind as he grew up with simple dreams, laboring alongside his father and mother, learning the art of craftsmanship, and occasionally wielding his father’s blade to protect their homestead from wandering bandits. But fate had different plans.
One cold winter night, as a storm raged across the land, a mysterious figure clad in silver armor visited Bailey in a dream. The figure spoke of a divine calling, a mission that could not be refused. The dream was so vivid that Bailey awoke with a sense of purpose beyond his comprehension. The village priests interpreted this vision as a message from a higher power, assigning Bailey the title of “The Chosen of the Light,” a holy warrior set on a path of destiny. With little more than his father’s sword and a makeshift shield, Bailey set forth to answer the call. His journey led him to the heart of Bicolline, where the ancient kingdoms and guilds engaged in ceaseless struggles for power, bound by his dedication to righteousness and faith, sworn to defend the innocent and vanquish the corrupt. Saint Bailey’s faith became his weapon as much as his blade. His belief in the divine gave him strength in the darkest of battles, and he became a beacon of hope for those he encountered.
Tales of his valor spread across the land as he stood against the shadows that threatened the Duché. Though others sought wealth or political power, Bailey pursued only the will of the Divine, earning him the title of “Saint,” even in his own lifetime. As the years passed, Bailey’s reputation grew, and his deeds became the stuff of legends. He was known not only as a fierce warrior but also as a wise counselor, often mediating disputes between rival factions and guiding them toward peace. His life was a testament to sacrifice and dedication, and his story became part of the lore of Bicolline itself.
