Origin Story
Long before Stella was born, several clamors of Old Harpy Fae’ lived on the land of Mundus. The Overseers of the Clamours were known as the ‘Elders’ who could see and hear far beyond Mundus. Stella’s ancestor clamor was known as the ‘Clamor of Manettes’ that would often migrate up and around the coasts, singing and mastering the tides with the Sea Fae. They thrived in chaos by flying into storms, manipulating them to their will, sending disastrous twisters and tsunamis beyond the shores from whence they came. Their voices could lure their prey and stun them where they stood into psychosis. Their calls could be heard over thousands of miles and the Elders could echolocate along the ‘ties’, sending signals from far away.
On Mundus the Harpies were poached for their horns, feathers and talons by mortals and other races. The remnants of their death paid handsomely to those who sold them. Even though the Harpies were strong in numbers, after thousands of years of poachers plucking them off like feathers, one by one their value only increased. Their ancestry dwindled on Mundus and the Elder Harpies refused to continue to subject their future kin to a preyful life.
A glimmer of hope shone through when the Faewylds were created for faefolk and some of the ‘Elders’ left behind their clamors, traveling through the Veil to the Faeywlds, for a promising new life. All of Fae who lived in the Wylds finally started to feel safe after a millennia, creating families. After a few more millennia, came Stellaine.
Mundus continued to dim for the Fae as the Faewylds flourished, Harpy Elders continued to warn their clamors of a future disaster, heeding them to stop traveling through the Veil as they felt the ‘ties’ of Mundus were connected to the land of Faerie, a cataclysm to behold. The songs that would radiate from the Faewylds grew silent.
After millennia of bliss in the Faewylds, the Harpies chirped that the ‘Elders’’ nerves were heightened and it was unlikely the same disaster would occur. Despite the whispers of denial, the ‘Elders’ sent surveyors, scouting Mundus for safe territories for returning harpies to land safely.
The Harpies stole scraps of clothes and jewels from Cite De Sable and local caravans for cover. The ‘Edlers’ determined their way of life was most similar to the Roma humans and the New Fae Harpies would be able to continue to travel along the coasts without suspicion. In modern Mundus most harpies continue to lay dormant in dense forests and refuse to mingle amongst the larger population.
The rescue mission quickly became disheartening as harpies from Faerie began to fall lifeless from the sky, bewitched with a harrowing sickness that shrunk them to bones and or their vocal power lost to the winds. The crusade of Harpy rescuers faded as they returned to their clamours, stunned, and inconsolable.
Stella remembers not much of the Fae wylds - the land itself like a distant dream and it soon will be. With the loss of the Fae Wylds so she assumed her ability to become a harpy. She transformed into her human form upon her arrival to Mundus and believed her magic had been lost to the Faewylds.
1022 Stella felt the pull of her magic, feathers began to sprout and she was able to manipulate her plumes during Primal night, but that was all.
1023 The Fae gathered, more than ever before and her full Harpy form presented itself with ease for the first time during a second Primal night.
1024 The Court of Mirages appointed Stellaine as the 'Mistress of Protocol', her duty to enforce Court of Mirages culture and continue to educate the Fae on Mundus regarding their history as Stella remembers what it was like to forget hers. During the Grand Batallie and the quest to save the Faewylds Stella used her magical vocal power with Selena and other Fae kin to call to the thread that connected the Faewylds to Mundus.
