Lyrics

A lowly bastard lies in wait at Rorrick’s tavern’s door
King Rathan sought council as to turn the tides of war
A watch word could be whispered at the door to gain entry
Within that tavern’s walls you’d be among good company

For many folk had travelled near and far to hear his words
Their guiding light, their northern star, an eagle among birds
But weeds can rear their ugly heads and spoil flowers’ blooms
The stag within the meadow has become a sign of doom

The lowly bastard lifts his hand as Rorrick tramples through
“Whisper words of entry like the folks did before you”
Reluctantly the stag let slip the words from his stiff lips
For even stags must bend the knee to eagles in their midst

Rivers’ red hand calls to us, a sign of loyalty
For we are Les Fideles and we defend our sovereignty
We fight for King Rathan beside our friends here in the South
The Sud will seek out weeds in an attempt to pull them out

Do not fear the Reaper, but the peasants at your end
Try to take our freedom and you’ll lose a lot of friends
For we maintain the garden, every flower, every stone
In our company know now you’re never on your own
In our company know now you’re never on your own
