| We are guardians first and foremost—guardians who believe the art of Mundus requires more protection than lavish halls and galleries can provide. The Curators of the Shifting Veil feel a calling to master and utilize their innate talents for protection. They operate under the assertion that, no matter how underhanded the tactic or the cost, whatever is being safeguarded takes precedence. | ||
| In 1024, a small group of individuals was drawn from their camps by a song. Most of the members don’t remember the journey, but they speak of colors, veils dancing between the trees, through curtains of rain and plains of wheat. All paths led to one place: an old stone tomb filled with chameleons. The walls of the tomb shifted colors brilliantly, thanks to the diminutive shifters. What called to those drawn by the song was its source: a large chest that shimmered in the center of the room, whispering its name into their minds—“Memoire.” The great vault opened to reveal treasures lost, treasures that longed for home. The Curators accepted the chest's call to return the pieces to their homes in times of peace and to collect any art at risk. | ||
| Charged with purpose, the new champions of Memoire and the Shifting Veil ventured forth with the mobile vault. As they left the Veil, large beasts with massive trunks and tusks approached them, offering bundles of fruit pulled from tall trees and volunteering to carry the lofty vault. The elephants travel with the Curators, defend them and Memoire, and live and die alongside them. | ||
| For the Curators, killing any of these strong, intelligent, and beautiful creatures is sacrilege. Whenever one of their parades falls to bandits, monsters, or kingdoms, the Curators mourn and then stampede. Once a stampede is called, the Curators follow the call of Memoire to collect the art that the enemy holds close by hiding it in the Veil. Once the art is secure, the Curators bring their tusks to bear and seek retribution. | ||
| The Curators of the Shifting Veil have found themselves in Terres Du Sud. There a song rings out that warms the heart of the guild, Memoire hums with excitement on Sud soil and is being pulled somewhere within the country. | ||
