Kafe

Early history -

Like many places The complete history of the Land of Kafe is lost in the mists of time. One thing is certain however, the middle of its lands has always been populated by all kinds of the most bizarre creatures. Legends have often spoken of tribes of bugbers, troglodytes and hobgoblins, legends which were corroborated by the first human settlers of this region who had to forge, often at the cost of their blood, their new corner of the country.

In the year 645, the city of Hullsburg was born, thanks to Knight Bernhard and his family, in this hostile territory where it developed and became the prosperous city we know today.

On March 22 of the year 712 Andore declared its independence. The Imperial loyalists of the new Kingdom then had no choice but to go into exile in order to survive their Imperial values. A handful of them settled on the east coast of the Land of Kafe, the City of Derzat was born. Currently with its 4 fiefdoms and 17 estates, the population of Derzat has lived in peace for several generations and is renowned for the quality of its vineyards and olive groves.

The city of Mokafe, for its part, was created later in history, but it stands today as one of the great commercial centers of our world.

It was in 1005, during the Great Conflict of the Central Lands, that the first Council of the Land of Kafe was held, bringing together representatives from all the cities. Immediately the discussions were friendly, the first regional edicts were voted unanimously and each representative left for their City with the conviction that the Land of Kafe is henceforth a region in its own right with its people, its policies and its values.

Derzat:

“Ubi est, cras filii vestri somnia eum”
Change. It usually begins with a simple idea, a dream of better days which quietly germinates in the minds of men until it finally springs forth in a burst of brilliance, a cry of freedom and renewal.

Some fear change, however, because it disrupts the established order. It has the power to transform ideologies, threatens to bring chaos and incomprehension...

Léon de Bourgogne, ruler of the city of Derzat, declared complete and immediate secession from the Land of Kafe. The former city regent and marshal of Kafe, Darlin Greenleaf, has been driven from the stockades and returned to Mokafe, where the King is mounting his army to bring this rebellious city back to order. Behind the palisades of Derzat, the populace equips themselves and prepares. Popular militias were formed by the former knights of Fontenay, and rations were meticulously counted for the days of siege to come.

Already, the army of the Black Flame is besieging the city walls, and soon the Royal Army of Kafe will follow to put an end to this outrage. The Civil War has indeed struck the Land of Kafe.

Appeals were launched to the four corners of the Central Lands by Léon de Bourgogne on behalf of the City of Derzat. War is at the gates of the City, which demands nothing other than its independence from the Kingdom of Kafe. An appeal is sent to all those who say they defend freedom and who oppose Tyranny! Derzat is in great need of help, and those who come to lend him a helping hand in these troubled times will be rewarded a hundredfold!

For his part, Gabriel Moonblade, King of Kafe, gathered his war council to put an end once and for all to the Derzat revolt. It is impossible to properly lead a promising young nation like the Land of Kafe while having a thorn in your side and revolutionaries in your backyard! It is time for order to be restored to the Land of Kafe: It is time for Derzat to return to the ranks.

The conflict, and its outcome, will have its effect on the face of the region for years to come: Will a united Kafe Country emerge stronger from the conflict? Or will Derzat's freedom finally be won, sowing the idea of revolution and change in the hearts of the people of neighboring nations?

The winds of change have risen, and only conflict will reveal the form that change will take...

Knight Bernhard, founder of the sovereign city of Hullsburg, was a nobleman of the Empire. When the Empire declared war on the Kingdom of Irendille in the year 640, it was outraged by the emperor's decision. He therefore preferred to go into exile rather than participate in a war, unjust and aimless according to his assessment.

In the year 645, he fortified the new city of Hullsburg with members of his family, friends and retinue. Little by little, the city was able to attract merchants eager to avoid heavy imperial taxes, and many people eager to be forgotten by the Empire. In the year 655, Bernhard was appointed ruler of the city, which was growing in demographic and economic importance. Bernhard II, Bernhard's son, established the title of Count, transmitted within the ruling family ever since. Under the reign of Bernhard II, the city seriously took off: it was then that Hullsburg developed into a real trading city.

Towards the end of the year 900 of the first era, a conflict arose between the aging Count Bernhard IV and his only son. The disagreement originated when the young heir questioned the legitimacy of power concentrated in the hands of a single person. At the end of the dispute, the count disinherited his son, to punish him for the affront he had just committed against the traditional authority of the illustrious family. Very affected by this episode, the count died shortly afterwards, having no declared heir.

Hullsbourg now known as Rougebourg:
Message from His Majesty Gabriel Lunelame the Unique, borrowed virtue, enlightened Despot of his people by unanimous acclamation, to his people and to his tender wife on this happy wedding anniversary

Tareris, on the 30th day of April in the year of grace 4 of the Lunelame era in Kafe (or 1017 Imperial).

The message goes as follows:

"I am more than surprised to see everyone making a statement on the situation in Hellsburg.

Here is the clarification so that no subject or stranger misunderstands what is happening in Kafe.

To begin with,

Following a clumsy and unjustified attempt of rebellion, the Kafienne population rose in masses to chastise the felons. The result of this conflict gave for the royalist forces what was one of the greatest victories of the lands of the hippocampus in year 2 of the Lunelame era (1014 imperial).

Despite more than reasonable offers by several intermediaries on behalf of the Royalist forces to return the titles of the domains to the royal advice. The noble rebels of Hullsburg decided to sell their lands to the dark forces knowingly.

The rebels of Hullsburg of the city left the walls in a hurry, leaving the population in terrible misery and unremorseful that they suffer the worst atrocities they can commit and still committed by the forces of evil. A governor, Shadred Karoé the Righteous, was put in place by my person to restore order. Royalist forces have been mobilized to fight and protect the Hullburg population left alone. A major conflict resolution is coming this fall that will put an end to the dispute in Kafe once and for all.

Regarding my title of a despot, the council of Kafe decided themselves to appoint me a despot against my will, but I came to one conclusion ..... that the acts make this one and not a simple title without content, dear wife of the Tourelle.

On another note, dear wife, we are celebrating our 4th wedding anniversary in front of the one and only today, what do you think if I buy estate near your house about not going too far.

With tenderness, your beloved husband.

Gabriel Lunelame,

King of Kafe and Lord of Loren by your alliance»
