The Archives of Brax

The realm of the Wood Elves of Irendille, as far back as memory goes, has always been there and remains as mysterious as ever. Very few Wood Elves travel throughout the Empire. The province of Loren in the Andore kingdom is the only known human province where Wood Elves regularly go to exchange and trade.

A peaceful people by nature, the Wood Elves have only been plunged into war once in their history, in the year 640 when Emperor Gar I declared war on Irendille. This was the Great Rebellion of 640; the men of the south allied with Irendille, and in a fit of rage, the emperor preferred to march his armies against the rebel provinces and forget the Wood Elves.

Irendille is known as the kingdom of the wood elves and its origins are shrouded in mystery. While information is not often shared with human scholars, recent globalization has made information easier to obtain.
Today, elves and half elves can be found all over Mundus. Additionally, humans, dwarves and fae have made new homes in Irendile. But for most of known history, Irendile was the place for elves only, and there are many who would prefer it to return that way.

According to the dark elves, Mundus used to be completely dark. When the creator god had the idea to create beings to populate the world, he created the perfect species in total darkness. This species, dark elves, grew in sophistication and intellect. One day, the creator had the idea to create light to admire his creation. Pleased with what he saw, he wanted to create more. However when he tried to copy it, he made the wood elves, who were a sad imitation of the perfection of the dark elves. Always chasing the perfect copy, the creator made species after species. Thus were born the blue men, the leprechauns, the satyrs, the goblins and the orcs until his last failure - humans, weak and mortal. Ashamed, he decided to no longer intervene in creation. He took humans as his protégés in order to give them a chance of survival.
